Pink Floyd’s tribute to the Piedmont Blues Lives on

Many fans of Pink Floyd know the origin of the band’s name.  It is combined from two prominent Piedmont Blues Players Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.  Piedmont Blues refers mainly to the style of guitar playing.  Arlo Guthrie was another fan of this style by using it as background music for the movie, “Alice’s Restaurant,”

There are now multiple tribute Pink Floyd tribute bands such as the Machine and the Mood to name a couple.  When you think about it, Pink Floyd’s music and those of the tribute bands keep the music legacy from the southeast U.S alive and thriving.
