After nine years without a studio album, the band behind “The Final Countdown” has a new chapter to share.
If you know Europe only from “The Final Countdown,” you’ve missed a lot of music. The Swedish rock band released its 12th studio album, Come This Madness, on September 25, 2026. It is their first since Walk the Earth in 2017.
The album’s 11 tracks include “One on One,” “The Cult of Ignorance,” “Scandinavian Eyes,” and the title song. Frontman Joey Tempest says the band wanted soaring melodies and big choruses that connect to its past, while writing about the world as it is now. That sounds like a fitting challenge for a group with a famous song to its name: honor what people love, then give them a reason to hear what comes next.
Come This Madness was recorded in Stockholm, produced by Tom Dalgety, and mixed by Mike Fraser. The album also features guest appearances from Tobias Forge of Ghost and Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth. Alongside the release, Europe is preparing a tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Final Countdown, beginning September 30 in Glasgow.
At Masters Radio, we believe an artist’s best known song should be the start of a conversation, not the end of one. Europe has made a new record. Give it a listen and decide where this chapter belongs in their story.
