About

Aldo Nova, born Aldo Caporuscio in Montreal, Quebec, is a Canadian hard rock musician who burst onto the scene with remarkable force in 1982. His self-titled debut album climbed to number 8 on the Billboard charts, announcing the arrival of a serious talent. The album's lead single, "Fantasy," became a breakthrough hit, reaching number 23 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and propelling the album to even greater commercial success. Nova's musicianship across guitar, keyboards, and vocals demonstrated a versatile command of the hard rock idiom that would define his early career and establish him as a significant voice in 1980s rock.

Beyond his own recording career, Nova's influence expanded into production and songwriting, revealing the depth of his artistic vision. In 1997, he earned a Grammy Award for Album of the Year as co-producer of Celine Dion's landmark 1996 album Falling into You, a testament to his skills in the studio. Later, he co-wrote four songs on La Ley's 2000 album Uno, which itself won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album. Through these contributions, Nova demonstrated his ability to elevate artists across genres, cementing a legacy that extends far beyond his own recordings.
