Carl Giammarese

About

Carl Giammarese is a guitarist and vocalist who helped shape the sound of 1960s American pop music as an original member of The Buckinghams. Formed in Chicago in 1966, the band quickly ascended to prominence, becoming one of the top-selling acts of 1967 with an impressive string of five top 40 hits that year. Giammarese's contributions as lead guitarist and vocalist were central to the group's infectious pop sensibility, helping establish The Buckinghams as a defining voice of the era before the band dissolved in 1970.

Following a decade away from performing, Giammarese demonstrated his enduring commitment to the band's legacy by helping revive The Buckinghams in 1980. Alongside bassist Nick Fortuna, another original member, Giammarese led the group back to the touring circuit beginning in 1982, keeping the band's classic sound alive for new and devoted audiences. His decision to reunite with the Buckinghams reflected a broader recognition of the group's cultural impact, and as of 2022, the band continues to tour throughout the United States, allowing Giammarese to share their timeless pop catalog with fans across generations.
