Chris Cornell was an American musician whose powerful voice and artistic vision defined multiple generations of rock music. As the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and primary lyricist for Soundgarden, he became one of the defining figures of the Seattle grunge movement that emerged in the late 1980s and 1990s. Cornell's extraordinary vocal range and emotional depth set him apart from his peers, earning him recognition from fellow musicians and music journalists as one of the greatest rock singers of all time. He passed away in 2017. Beyond Soundgarden, Cornell demonstrated his versatility through his work with Audioslave and his tribute band Temple of the Dog, which he founded to honor his late friend Andrew Wood.
Throughout his career, Cornell proved himself a restless creative force, continuously exploring new musical territories. His solo discography included four studio albums released during his lifetime: Euphoria Morning (1999), Carry On (2007), Scream (2009), and Higher Truth (2015).
