Danny Elfman is an American film composer, singer, songwriter, and musician who first rose to prominence as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter for the new wave band Oingo Boingo in the early 1980s. Based in Los Angeles, Elfman was the creative force behind the band from 1976 until its breakup in 1995, establishing himself as a distinctive voice in the new wave scene. His breakthrough into film scoring came in 1985 when he composed his first studio film score, marking the beginning of a remarkable transition from rock musician to one of cinema's most prolific composers.

Since that pivotal moment, Elfman has garnered international recognition for composing over 100 feature film scores alongside compositions for television, stage productions, and the concert hall.
