Deborah Nowalski Kader, known professionally as Debi Nova, is a Costa Rican singer-songwriter widely considered the most successful artist in her country's history. Nova's early career took shape as a backing vocalist for Gandhi, one of Costa Rica's most beloved rock bands of the 1990s and 2000s. Her international breakthrough came through collaborations with global music icons, beginning with work as a backing vocalist for Sérgio Mendes and Ricky Martin.
