Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr., known professionally as Diplo, is an American DJ and music producer who emerged as a transformative force in electronic music. Born November 10, 1978, Diplo gained widespread recognition in 2008 with his breakthrough single "Blow Your Head," a moment that established him as a vital voice in contemporary dance music. Beyond his solo work, he has proven himself a visionary collaborator and entrepreneur, founding the record company Mad Decent in 2006 and the nonprofit organization Heaps Decent in 2007, demonstrating a commitment to both artistic innovation and social impact.

Diplo's influence extends across multiple collaborative projects that have shaped modern electronic music. He is the co-creator and lead member of Major Lazer, an electronic dancehall music project that has become iconic in the genre. His collaborative credits are formidable: he is a member of the supergroup LSD alongside Labrinth and Sia, the electronic duo Jack Ü with Skrillex, and Silk City with Mark Ronson. His 2013 EP Revolution reached number 68 on the US Billboard 200, with its title track earning placement on the WWE 2K16 soundtrack and in a Hyundai commercial, exemplifying his ability to create music that resonates across mainstream and alternative audiences alike.
