Moore first reached the charts in 1966 with the group recording "Lullaby of Love" for Epic Records' Date subsidiary, which climbed to number 56 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her distinctive style blended the soulfulness of blues and gospel with the contemporary appeal of R&B, creating a sound that felt both timeless and utterly captivating.

Moore's greatest moment came in 1976 with the release of "Misty Blue," a landmark recording that became her signature song and reached number 2 on the R&B chart and number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. That same year, she continued her momentum with "Funny How Time Slips Away," which climbed to number 7 on the R&B chart. In 1977, "I Believe You" further solidified her artistry, reaching number 5 on the R&B chart and number 27 on the pop chart. After taking time away from recording, Moore returned to her roots with a gospel album, demonstrating the spiritual foundation that has always anchored her musical identity.
