Duice
About
Duice was an American Miami bass duo formed by Los Angeles native Ira "L.A. Sno" Brown and Barbados native Anthony "Creo-D" Darlington. The two were discovered while enlisted in the military at Fort Gordon, Georgia, a chance meeting that would launch them into the spotlight. Their signature sound epitomized the Miami bass genre, a style known for its infectious energy and party-oriented production. Though their time together proved brief, Duice made an indelible mark on early 1990s pop culture with an immediately recognizable sound.
The duo's sole hit single, "Dazzey Duks," became a defining moment in their career and the era itself. Released in 1993, the track became an instant smash, selling over two million copies and peaking at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The single earned 2x platinum certification from the RIAA on January 27, 1994, while their self-titled album, Dazzey Duks, achieved gold status the same day. Beyond their own success, L.A. Sno's production work on subsequent projects like "Whatz Up Whatz Up" and "And Then There Was Bass" demonstrated the lasting influence of the duo's contributions to bass music and hip-hop production.
