Eddie Vedder is an American singer, musician, and songwriter born December 23, 1964, in Evanston, Illinois. Before finding his calling as a musician, Vedder worked as a night security guard at La Valencia Hotel. His breakthrough came when he became the lead vocalist, primary lyricist, and one of three guitarists for the rock band Pearl Jam, one of the defining acts of the grunge era. He also served as a guest vocalist for Temple of the Dog, a supergroup tribute dedicated to singer Andrew Wood, further establishing his presence in the Seattle music scene during a pivotal moment in rock history.

As the creative force behind Pearl Jam's most iconic material, Vedder's contributions have shaped the sound and emotional landscape of modern rock music.
