Frederick Anthony Jackson was an American R&B and soul singer who emerged from New York to become one of the era's most beloved vocalists. Beginning his professional career in the late 1970s with the California funk band Mystic Merlin, Jackson quickly distinguished himself with his smooth, soulful delivery. He passed away in 2024. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he crafted a string of unforgettable hits that showcased his remarkable range and emotional depth, establishing himself as a cornerstone of contemporary R&B music.
Jackson's discography stands as a testament to his artistic consistency and appeal. His well-known R&B and soul hits include "Rock Me Tonight" (1985), "You Are My Lady" (1985), "Have You Ever Loved Somebody" (1986), "Jam Tonight" (1986), and "Do Me Again" (1990), along with albums like "Just Like the First Time" (1986), "Don't Let Love Slip Away" (1988), and "Time for Love" (1992).
