Glen Hansard is an Irish singer-songwriter born in Dublin on April 21, 1970, whose artistic journey began unconventionally when he left school at age 13 to pursue busking. Since 1990, he has served as the frontman of The Frames, an Irish rock band that has released six studio albums, four of which reached the top ten of the Irish Album Charts. Beyond his work with The Frames, Hansard co-founded the folk rock duo The Swell Season, demonstrating his versatility across multiple musical projects and solidifying his reputation as a compelling voice in contemporary rock and folk music.

Hansard's solo career has furthered his artistic recognition, beginning with his 2012 debut album Rhythm and Repose. His second solo album, Didn't He Ramble, released in 2015, earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Folk Album, cementing his status as a significant artist in folk music. An Academy Award-winning songwriter and musician who has also worked as an actor, Hansard's career reflects a deep commitment to his craft and a remarkable ability to move audiences across multiple disciplines.
