The group's breakthrough came in 1998 when they received the "Best New Band" award at the Australian Blues Music Awards, a validation of their growing artistry. That same year, the band rebranded as Grainger, continuing to perform together until 2001 before Grainger embarked on her solo journey.

Building on the foundation established during her formative years in Australia, Grainger signed as a solo artist with Craving Records in 2006, marking a new chapter in her artistic evolution.
