Gerard Hugh Sayer, known professionally as Leo Sayer, is an English singer and songwriter who emerged as a distinctive voice in popular music during the early 1970s. Beginning his recording career with "Silverbird" in 1973, Sayer quickly established himself as a compelling artist with a gift for crafting memorable songs. His early albums, including "Just a Boy" and "Another Year," showcased his evolving artistry as he developed his distinctive sound and songwriting voice. By the mid-1970s, Sayer had become a fixture on the music scene, releasing a series of albums that demonstrated his versatility and growing mastery of his craft.
