About

Christopher Hamill, known professionally as Limahl, is an English singer and songwriter who rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the pop band Kajagoogoo, beginning in 1982. The band's breakthrough came through their collaboration with producer Nick Rhodes, whose involvement helped secure them a deal with EMI. Kajagoogoo's debut single "Too Shy" was released in January 1983, establishing the group as a significant force in the pop landscape. Limahl's distinctive vocal presence became central to the band's identity during this formative period of his career.

After leaving Kajagoogoo, Limahl embarked on a solo career that would define his lasting legacy in popular music. He achieved considerable chart success with "Only for Love" (UK No. 16) in 1983, but it was his 1984 recording of "The NeverEnding Story," the theme song for the film of the same name, that became his signature work, reaching UK No. 4. This iconic ballad remains one of the most recognizable movie themes of the 1980s. Limahl continued his recording career with two further albums: "Colour All My Days" in 1986 and "Love Is Blind," cementing his place in the era's pop music heritage.
