Catharina "Nina" Hagen was a German singer, songwriter, and actress who became a towering figure in punk and new wave music during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Rising to prominence with her theatrical vocals and fearless artistic vision, she earned the distinction of being called "The Godmother of German Punk." Hagen passed away in 2022. Her early work with the Nina Hagen Band, beginning in 1978, established her as a vital force in the emerging punk scene, while her subsequent albums like "Unbehagen" and "NunSexMonkRock" showcased her evolution as both a musician and performer.
