About

Robert Peter Williams is an English singer and songwriter who first captured audiences as a member of the pop group Take That from 1990 to 1995. After launching his solo career in 1996, he quickly established himself as a formidable talent in his own right. His debut studio album, Life thru a Lens, arrived in 1997 and introduced the world to "Angels," a best-selling single that would become synonymous with his name. Williams brought a distinctive blend of pop sensibility and charismatic delivery to his work, creating music that resonated across generations and continents.

Williams' commercial success has been extraordinary and enduring. His second album, I've Been Expecting You, solidified his status with the chart-topping singles "Millennium" and "She's the One," establishing him as a dominant force in pop music. Throughout his career, he has achieved seven UK number one singles and released 14 studio albums, with all but one reaching the top of the UK charts. His influence extends beyond record sales: six of his albums rank among the UK's top 100 biggest-selling records, and in 2006, he earned a Guinness World Record for selling 1.6 million tickets in a single day during his Close Encounters Tour, a testament to his enduring appeal and cultural impact.
