Rod Argent is an English keyboardist and bandleader whose career has spanned more than six decades. Born in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, in 1945, Argent came to prominence in the mid-1960s as the founder, leader, and keyboard player of the rock band the Zombies. His innovative approach to the instrument and commanding presence helped define the band's sophisticated sound during their initial run, establishing him as a distinctive voice in the British rock scene and earning him recognition as a skilled musician, songwriter, and composer.
Following the Zombies' first break-up, Argent went on to form the band Argent, extending his influence as a bandleader and creative force.
