About

Sir Roderick David Stewart's legendary career began humbly in 1962 when he took up busking with a harmonica, setting the stage for a musical journey that would span decades. After performing with the Dimensions and Long John Baldry and the All Stars, Stewart joined the Jeff Beck Group in 1967 before becoming a member of the Faces in 1969. That same year, he launched his solo career with his debut album, An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down. His early work fused rock, folk, soul, and R&B into a distinctive sound complemented by his unmistakable raspy singing voice. By the early 1970s, Stewart's artistry reached its apex with Every Picture Tells a Story, his third album, which topped charts across the UK, US, Canada, and Australia, while its iconic single "Maggie May" achieved similar worldwide success.

Stewart's impact on popular music proved enduring and profound. His 1972 follow-up, Never a Dull Moment, replicated his previous success, reaching number one in the UK and Australia and climbing into the top three in North America, with the single "You Wear It Well" topping the UK charts. Throughout his career, Stewart has sold over 120 million records worldwide, positioning him among the best-selling music artists of all time. His contributions were recognized with induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 as a solo artist, and again in 2012 as a member of the Faces, cementing his status as one of rock music's most influential and celebrated figures.
