Steve Lynch was an American guitarist born on January 18, 1955, best known as the co-founder and lead guitarist of the glam metal and hard rock band Autograph, which formed in 1983. Lynch's journey to becoming a musician was profoundly shaped by the death of Jimi Hendrix in 1970, an event that inspired him to commit himself to mastering the guitar. Initially drawn to playing bass, Lynch made the pivotal decision to switch to guitar following Hendrix's passing. His musical influences were rooted in the late 1960s and early 1970s rock landscape, drawing inspiration from legendary artists including Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Beatles. Lynch passed away in 2024.
