Momentum Tracking Dashboard
What gets measured gets managed. This dashboard gives you a simple system for tracking your campaign’s performance every single day. The numbers tell a story, and if you know how to read them, they will tell you exactly when to push harder, when to change tactics, and when to celebrate.
How to Use This Dashboard
- Fill it out at the same time every day. Pick a time (the end of the day works best) and make it a habit. Five minutes of tracking saves hours of guessing.
- Copy the tables into a spreadsheet. Google Sheets is free and lets you add formulas for automatic calculations. But pen and paper works too.
- Focus on trends, not individual days. A single bad day does not mean your campaign is failing. Three bad days in a row means you need to change something.
- Share progress with your team. If you have collaborators, a manager, or a street team, share the dashboard weekly so everyone is aligned.
Daily Tracking Table
Record these numbers every day of your campaign.
| Date | Day # | New Backers | Total Backers | Daily Revenue | Total Revenue | % of Goal | Top Traffic Source | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ___/___ | 1 | $ | $ | % | ||||
| ___/___ | 2 | $ | $ | % | ||||
| ___/___ | 3 | $ | $ | % | ||||
| (Continue for each day of your campaign. A 30-day campaign needs 30 rows.) | ||||||||
What to write in “Notes”: Record what you did that day. “Sent email blast,” “Posted TikTok that got 10K views,” “Featured on music blog,” “No marketing today.” This helps you connect actions to results.

Key Metrics to Watch
These are the numbers that tell you whether your campaign is healthy or needs attention.
| Metric | How to Calculate | What It Tells You | Healthy Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conversion Rate | (Total Backers / Total Page Visitors) x 100 | How well your campaign page turns visitors into backers | 3% to 8% is typical. Above 8% is excellent. |
| Average Pledge | Total Revenue / Total Backers | How much each backer contributes on average | $25 to $75 for music campaigns. Higher means strong reward tiers. |
| Referral Rate | Track which backers came from shared links vs. direct traffic | How well your backers are spreading the word | 20%+ of backers from referrals is strong. |

| Email Click Rate | Provided by your email platform | How many people who opened the email clicked the campaign link | 3% to 7% of total recipients. Above 5% is strong. |

Are You on Track? Quick Calculator
Use this simple formula every day to know if you are pacing toward your goal.
Daily Funding Needed
(Campaign Goal – Total Raised So Far) / Days Remaining = Daily Funding Needed
Example:
- Campaign goal: $10,000
- Total raised so far: $3,500
- Days remaining: 18
- Daily funding needed: ($10,000 – $3,500) / 18 = $361 per day
Now compare that to your actual daily average:
Total Raised / Days Elapsed = Your Daily Average
- If your daily average is higher than daily needed: You are on track. Keep doing what you are doing.
- If your daily average is lower than daily needed: You need to increase activity. See the Crisis Management Guide for action plans.
Important context: Campaign funding does not come in evenly. Expect big days at the start and end, with slower days in the middle. The daily funding needed calculation works best as a general health check, not a day-to-day panic button. If you are in the middle slump but your weekly trend is positive, you are probably fine.
