With the public announcement of the The Black Album’s release date, “Zombie Bastards” was released to promote the album. Along with the announcement, Weezer has added a Madison Square Garden show to their United States tour as well as announced a mini Europe tour.

Prior to the release of the song, Weezer snuck in two hints of the song: one on the 16th of November, where Weezer tweeted out the chorus of the song prior to its release when the hashtag #ZombiesIn5Words was trending, and the other the day before the release, warning those to be beware of zombies.
