Brooklyn-born Avey Tare is the musical project of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Dave Portner. His first solo release, ‘Spirit They’re Gone, Spirit They’ve Vanished’, established him as a major force in the independent music scene. From there, Avey Tare’s sound evolved from psychedelic rock to dreamy electronica, exploring themes of nature and love in his albums Animal Collective, Pullhair Rubeye and Down There.
