Iain Matthews is an English singer/songwriter and musician who was the original member of the British rock folk band Fairport convention (1967-69) and then left to form his own band, Matthews Southern Comfort. His band had a no.1 on the U.K. charts in 1970 and in 1979, his cover of Terence Boylan’s “Shake It” hit no. 13 on U.S. charts.
