Shawn Corey Carter, also known as Jay-Z, is an American rapper, songwriter, businessman, media proprietor, and record executive. Born and raised in New York City, Jay-Z’s musical career took off in 1995 after founding the record label Roc-A-Fella Records and he is now known as one of the greatest rappers of all time.
