Silk is an R&B group whose members all came up through the church.   They got their start when their debut single, appeared on the Billboard R&B chart in 1992 when they debuted their album Lose Control. Silk had another best seller “Freak Me,” as a slow jam that topped the R&B and pop charts.

Through the 1990s, Silk continued to crank out more albums such as U.S. Silk (1995) and Tonight (1999).   With love being the theme of their many hits such as “Hooked on You” and “If You (Lovin’ Me)”.

This group had a Top Ten R&B album, Love Session in 2001.

Fun Fact:  Silk was discovered by Keith Sweat, who signed them to his Elektra-supported Keia label. “Happy Days.”
