Steve Winwood is a rare artist in that he has found success in his career multiple times; as a member of the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, and Blind Faith. However, the greatest success of his career has come as a solo artist with hits like; Valerie, Higher Love, and Back in the High Life.

Winwood has been tapped dozens of times throughout his career as a collaborating artist with some of music industry’s upper echelon. Artists, from Billy Joel to Jimmy Buffet and B.B. King to Jimi Hendrix, have worked with Steve on songs that feature both his smooth jazz like voice and mastery of the keys.

Steve’s latest album is his Greatest Hits Live compilation that chronicles his career both as a solo artist and of his myriad of stints in famous bands.  With too many hits to choose from, we have selected a rarely heard song “Walking In The Wind”.

At one time, instead of Crosby Stills Nash and Young could have been called Crosby Stills Nash and Winwood. When CSN were looking for another musician to add to their touring group in concert, Winwood was asked if he would be interested. Steve had to pass because he was already committed to his current band Blind Faith with Eric Clapton (who was also asked to join C.S.N.).
