For true fans, you will notice that the band had gone through name change ever so slightly from the B-52’s to the B-52s dropping the apostrophe in 2008.  At first glance, many at first may have thought they were named after the airplane but instead after the high-rise beehive hairdos worn by the women band members.

This band has gone through its share of rough times.   When Ricky Wilson died of AIDS-related illnesses, it was challenging to for the band to complete the album Bouncing Off the Satellites.  For a while, it was uncertain if the band was going to continue.   Thankfully for fans, the B-52s continued on to make more albums.

Fast forward to today, the band is going strong as they continue touring along with some of the members creating their own music through solo acts or with side bands.
